Greetings Friends: I would like to search for large caches of silver and gold. I would not be searching for single coins or relics. I would be looking for lost treasure, treasure chests, and the like. I would be searching on ground only, maybe some wet beach sand. The ground is rocky, sandy, mineralized coastal regions of New England.
I would like to be able to identify non-ferrous metals NOT using the All Metal Mode. I would be searching areas that have had many shipwrecks. These sites have a lot of iron and junk. I would like to mask iron out.
I would like to be able to search 3 to 4 feet down.
So far, I have the Minelab GP3500 (P.I), Eric Fostors detectors, and Accurate Locators suggested to me. I haven't seen much about Accurate Locators detectors discussed in the forums.
Has anyone had any experience using any of these machines? Are there any recommendations as for the best detector for my (and others similar) needs?
Happy hunting. Kevin in Ipswich, Mass.
