Does anyone have any info on the old tr garret international s-2 as i have been given one that is faulty and i am trying to repair it.
It powers up but it is unstable ie, push the the retune button and adjust the threshold to just audible, but after a couple of seconds it increases to max loudness and wont then obviously detect anything, it stays stable if you hold the button in but it then does not operate as it should that way i dont think?
I have checked the search frequency with a counter and it reads 49khz i dont think this is right is it? maybe the co planer head is shot? dunno, anyway i would be greatful if anyone could give us any clues if possible about this early tr, otherwise it will take the short journey straight to the trash can, cheers.........
