Errr... Mr. Lost....

Have you considered that there may be spirits of the ancient guardians of gold treasures still floating in the ion fields of the ether who take offense at man-made magnetic fields intruding in their domain of guardianship? Is it possible that these LRL proponents are victims of the wrath of the floating dead spirits who curse on them every time a non-believer turns on one of them dang VLF or PI contraptions and spoils their ionic fields? For shame! ...errr.. wait, there is no political incorrectness in bashing ancient dead floating spirits. ... at least not yet.

well now i know this is getting off topic but, i do believe in ghost. i never used to until i had at least two different experiances with them. i cant expalain to anyone what a ghost is or, why they are however.

i will tell you if there is any spirits out there guarding a treasure that need to earn some sort of points by showing the treasure location, im all ears.

maybe thats Carls dilemea. perhaps a spirit of one of those Tuscaroras or Cherokee has latched itself to his cache and tinkers with his machines... well ok its a long shot .

i think that some caches over the course of mankind were burried in steel pots . this obviously has been covered previously but it does make for a nice big target even if fresh. i found a mason jar lid once it was about 7 inches down. i was excited but there was no mason jar. i found about 5 of those things in this one yard. found the lids with a minelab soverign . now if that lid had a jar and some change in it i wonder if it would have made my signal any different? i am inclined to think not . the lid being nonferrous and round made for a sweet signal. i dont know how a bail on a glass lid mason jar would sound if there was one fill of change. . i think if you were to have to much disc. you may not see it at all. as these bails are made of steel.

Look at leprechauns as the likely culprit that cause LRLs to stop working when anyone tries to find treasure. While not exactly dead spirits, they are notorious for guarding treasure caches and reeking havoc to all those who attempt to find treasure. Could a leprechaun be hiding in Carl's back yard by his buried cache?

well i dont really know. i have only been living in NC for about a year or so. but the Scotts settled much of NC. not too many Irish down here. would the leprechauns haunt old Scottish country? maybe its the ghost of hagus past guarding his cache and causing his detectors to malfuction. kinda hard to find silver under a steamy ghostly pile of sheeps inards.

Hello Carl, In 2002 I found in old room this 1800's ceramic container in other compartment in floor.

next I put inside old coins and now is in my garden about 20 inches, similar to your project.

I try the detection: with magnum force f., sierra madre and others detectors... next i post the result,,,

Did you guys actually test the pi's on these caches? I thought someone was going to do that. Is anyone going to? It would be interesting to see that since even the 2 boxers apparently can't see them.

I tested several std PI detectors, like Sea Hunter, Infinium, SandShark, SMPI... the only thing that came close was the TDI with a custom 24" coil, which could see the cache in an air test. But I did not properly shield the coil, and it was too noisy in the ground. I did not have any of the big-loop PI detectors to try.

I have since moved, had to retrieve the cache, and have not re-buried it.

Ok, thanks Carl. You wouldn't think that this would be such a difficult thing. I am looking for a pi that can go down that deep for cache hunting purposes, but do not have the bucks for lorenze or something of that nature, so just moderate depth like two feet. I have red clay and lava rocks. Maybe I could try some of the ones mentioned of the vlf's that came close and make do until I get some $'s, better than nothing (maybe).
Anybody else have a pi that can hit the cache? Do it an tell us, please.

Hi Carl.
I made a similar test with the TDI and the 1m x 1m coil. I put in a ceramin jar about 350 coins (bronze nickel etc) and TDI detected it easy from 1m.
But when i replaced the new coins with very very old coins that was very very thin then TDI has not the ability to detect them at depth more that 50cm. So the thinner coins the lower eddy current.

Nice discovery , what type detector used ? what was brand ? what was detection deep?
What is coins material ?

The comparative test and nexsus, vhites xl tdi pro ,max black with probe ,I did not notice anything which would be indication that the nexsus better I even had a problem to stabilize in this nexsus where I tested ,while vhites worked without problems ,so we must be realistic.

Hmmmm... that also sounds promising. I looked up the coil you mentioned and it brought me to the geo logger sight. That too sounds good. He mentions how information is recorded and shows much deeper because it will record information that our ears cannot hear, those that can be much deeper. I wonder how deep that would record with your setup. I wish I had that right now.

Maybe with a logger these caches could be found with these afore mentioned units?
