Having to re ground balance several times and false signals. They really were having a bad time. The Peak District was water logged ground but the Shropshire one was fairly typical of around here with plough shear mixed in with coke

Out of the 20 to 30 people taking on each rally their finds rates were towards the bottom of the scale.

That's not to say they are bad. After all it could be operator error, just bad luck or the detector just doesn't like the type of ground we have here.
I have never really understood blisstool as a company, the ltc27 and the ltc42 were great no nonsense detectors, but the company only seem interested in "the beast", not selling a lower spec model just seems daft to me I have heard people say "I liked the earlier simple models".
so they are missing out on sales granted not a huge amount, but if they reintroduced the ltc27 as a base model and only sold 200 a year it would still be money in their coffers not the competition, as I understand it they are made in low volume quantities, so building a few of these for every ten ltc64's to me seems a no brainer.
especially since the folk who would buy an ltc27 or ltc42 are not the same folk who buy the "beast", they probably assume if you want a 42 you will buy a 64, which is totally wrong and just leads to lost sales.

                        • recently, I did tests of Equinox, CTX, and Atrex detectors on various conductive coins.. I was surprised that a gold coin of 4 ducats /14 grams of 24k gold/ had a significantly greater detection range than a silver dollar of the same size...Click image for larger version

                          • the vector of silver coins is quite close to the vector of ferrites and soil. the ground balance system rejects much of the signal on highly conductive silver coins. But it does not reject the foil and coins of copper-nickel alloys - their vector is about 90 degrees to that of ferrites. elementary, Watson ...

                            • an acquaintance shared - he has a test field of loam, very dense soil - it holds the water in a hole for a very long time. the buried pot gives a weak signal when the soil is moist, but the signal disappears completely when the soil is dry. The pot of coins was buried more than 17 years ago. measurements were made with a Minelab gpx 4500. what caused this ?
