Carl, have you tried out these 2 detectors? Just got my PRO-2 AND IT IS DEFINITELY MORE SENSITIVE TO NICKELS AND GOLD RINGS THAN THE SUPERPRO. The PRO-2 WEIGHS LESS and IT IS LESS SENSITIVE TO SILVER. THE SUPERPRO is more sensitive to silver but it is less sensitive to nickels. Haven't had time for a field test yet but may try it out this coming weekend. These old detectors have a lot of tonal variances which may help to tell the difference between trash and gold rings. They may also be able to tell size differences which may help in recovering gold class rings which are a lot larger than pultabs but whose target I. D. is alike.
