Coil...please Help

Hallo,

i made the ETI561 detector. i have only one problem. i don´t have 0,4 mm wire. i shoud make 70 turns on a 15 cm diameter with 0,4 mm wire. i have only 0,2 mm wire. how many turns should i make with 0,2 mm wire? 70 or 140? what is about wiering with normal plastic isolated wire?

no of turns

within reason you will wind 70 turns whatever the thickness of wire.

the problem with thicker wire is that its heavier and takes up more space. 70 turns of plastic coated wire will be a thick bundle.

thicker wire will we give a coil with a higher q value that could cause problems.

best to hunt around for the .4 wire if you can

the more turns you put on the lower frequency the coil will run at
