Five or so years ago, and after a long break from metal detector design work, I had the urge to get back into designing something for fun. I was not going to do anything regarding producing a saleable detector. However, after many discussions with past and present collegues, I have decided to do a backflip on that one. So I guess, this is just a note to say that there will be more than one Australian made detector available within the next 3 years. We will be looking for a number of pre-production guinea pigs and test sites to which units will be supplied. Initial costing puts the target price at <$3,000 Aus dollars. It will be a digital PI machine. MPID is the project name for those interested. I do not intend to post anything commercial other than what you see here. If it's Ok with you Carl, I will give updates on progress either by email to you for screening before posting if you wish or directly to this forum. For the record, I have no affiliation with ML, nor am I a disgruntled ex- employee!
