Anyone ever use an AH SUPER PRO V, and what did you think of it?
    Thanks!

    Hi Jim,
I know that Carl has an AH Super Pro V, and I also have one in my possession.
Unfortunately neither of them are in a working condition. The Super Pro is an old off-resonance BFO detector, and they were good in their day, but have been superceded by much more capable VLF ground cancelling detectors.
Hopefully I'll get it working one day, but at the moment other projects are getting in the way.

Thanks for the reply. I'm getting one in on a trade and it is supposed to work. I got a copy of the manual for it from Allen Hammetta the manufacturer. I really don't have much use for it, so if you know anyone who would want one have them contact me. Thanks!

Well, actually, the only one I have, happens to be the one Qiaozhi has. So let me know what you want for it.

Sorry - my mistake. Of course, the other one is an AH Super Pro (without the V). Do you know what the difference is between these two?
Here's a couple of pics of the AH Super Pro V:

Neat! Thanks for the photos. I should have one in a few days.
Let you know how it works. Thanks!

                It got here!

I received the AH SUPER PRO-V this afternoon. It's a hipmount/chestmount version with a neck/shoulder strap on the control box. The armrest is on the rod that goes to the coil. It actually works in a strange sort of way. The tuning is weird, but it works in all functions. I'm using a new computer and have a digital camera, but not too good at posting pictures just yet. I'll try to post pics tomorrow.

                  A.H. SUPERPRO V

Hi! SEE MY POSTS IN THE VINTAGE-COLLECTABLE FORUM. This a great detector not as deep as the current ones. It seems to be a cross between the BFO and the TR. It can squeal like a BFO but also gives a strong audio signal like the TR. As far as I know the SuperPro V has a tonal control while the SuperPro doesn't! This detector can see thru a lot of the trash and sees the good targets. It is light weight and well balanced and its tonal variances makes it a joy to use. I have found silver in worked out parks maybe because of the small-6 inch loop. It can see around a lot of the trash plus it makes one to slow down to cover each pass thoroughly. Hope this helps. Feel free to ask me any other questions concerning the SuperPro I'd be glad to answer! Joe

                    SUPERPRO VS. PRO-2

I also have a Pro-2. It has a tonal control like the SuperPro V. I prefer it over all the other AH Pro detectors. It is a lot more sensitive to nickels than the SuperPro. It is also well balanced and is lighter in weight than the SuperPro. My SuperPro only gets 3 or 4 inches max on a nickel, the Pro-2 gets 6 or 7 inches on the same nickel. These detectors ground tune or can ground-hug the ground very well! No motion here so pinpointing is not a problem. Very loud signals are shallow in depth while the deeper targets are faint. Battery drain seems to be very nominal, I'm still using the same batteries purchased months ago! Objects can also be sized up, that is one can figure out the size of a target without a meter or graph telling one what size it could be! Joe

thanks for the reply! If you know any one who wants this one (Super Pro-V), I'd be interesting in trading for something. thanks!

Do you have the schematic by any chance?

No, I didn't try to get one.

No, I didn't try to get one. You might try contacting Alan Hammetta the builder.

After some searching I've discovered his email address: [email protected]
The thing that threw me off course was the misspelling of his first name.
Anyway, I'll let you know whether I'm successful or not. Thanks for your help.

Success! Allen has sent me the schematic.
Now I need to find some time to repair this detector.
