The old web site is full of dead links. It's all going away eventually and will end up in the Articles section, I'll deal with dead links as I go.

They manually downgraded me to PHP 7.4 but told me this would soon become impossible. So I decided to upgrade before another shut-down. But I did keep the logo exactly the same, just like Mercedes.
The red/gold color scheme is very close to the old forum. I've tried to improve contrast where it is most important. If you were using the blue/gray vB4 color scheme, sorry, that was not included in vB5. But there are several other color schemes you can use if you don't like the 'Geotech' colors.
Yes exactly. These were the colors when you weren't logged in, when you logged in, they were light blue white... something like that.
And the eyes "rested" with such a combination.
Ok, I probably didn't follow your reasoning before, now that you've said it again; it is clear that you were forced to make these changes.
I hadn't seen that before... clearly why. In the same way, I'm afraid, I will miss a lot to see in the future, from the posts.
The analogy with Mercedes turned out badly! But the point is clear.
Look at this post, the text, somehow the letters don't come out naturally like before. It looks weird.

This is as it should be:
Click image for larger version Name:	image.png Views:	0 Size:	2.4 KB ID:	408575
          This is not:
Click image for larger version Name:	image.png Views:	0 Size:	2.2 KB ID:	408576
          This annoys:
Click image for larger version Name:	image.png Views:	0 Size:	1.4 KB ID:	408577
          Cursor alone would do.
          ...
          This makes no sense:

Click image for larger version Name:	image.png Views:	0 Size:	1.1 KB ID:	408579
It does not tell that I liked your post, it rather tells; "there is 1 unlike on this post"...

Sorry, can't do much about that. I also don't care for it but not seeing any mods that will fix it.

That might be an easy fix.

I think it tells you that there is 1 'like' for the post, it is your 'like', and you can retract it if you want. The whole 'like' thing is new and maybe I should just turn it off.

              Not! On the contrary!
I think it's a neat thing, it just needs to be rearranged, if possible.
Let it be expanded to have "likes" and "unlikes" with numbers in front of each.
It's nothing important to the forum. But over time it may serve some statistics.
And maybe one day there will be a vote for "this and that"... some prize game, etc.
It's just good to have it as an option.
Like on Facebook (which I don't really like, but I go there sometimes to see who is gossiping about me and why) ...
(the truth is different, I go there secretly to look at photos/videos of hot girls and younger milfs) ...
(unbelievable is what these women and girls of today are all ready for!!!)...

              khhm...
so there on Facebook I saw that those "likes" and "unlikes" are sometimes indicative, they show something,
they build self-confidence, or vice versa,
sometimes they point out some personal mistakes, etc.
In this way, the public will let you know that you were wrong or that you are on the right path.
A very discreet way to warn you and keep in mind the mood of the majority.
              Keep it!
Expand it if there is options for that.

I'm not sure I can add a "dislike" option. But at least "Write something..." is gone.

One other thing... I cannot bring back the vB4 blue style you seemed to like, it was not included in the vB5 update. However, they included some other color styles and they are in a pop-up list at the lower left corner. If you don't like one of those, then there are lots of vB5 styles that people have created. If you can get the XML file for one you like then I will install it. See the forums on vbulletin.com and vbulletin.org, make sure you consider vB5 styles only.

I like the "Cool Blue" but it is "narrowed":

On the old forum, if you searched, for example, "delta puse" the results came also with the number of pages of that thread. And that's how you know it is the main thread for that project. Carl, it is possible to add pagination near the thread name in search window? (ex: 1,2,3...70,71,72) The same i see for "what's new" or "tech forum", looks like for all the pages. thanks

It's the same problem Lucifer mentioned in post #70. I asked tech support and, no, that feature is not in vB5. I've asked that it be revived.

How to view just the "attachments" from any given thread, or is that feature bye bye.

Use to be easy searching through "attachments" for a specific pdf which I knew was somewhere in the thread.

                                https://forum.vbulletin.com/forum/vb...er-can-t-login

Basically, make sure you are accessing with "https://www.geotech1.com/forums". I have a server-side redirect for http:// and https://geotech1.com/forums but I'm not sure they are working, when I use the latter it thinks I'm not logged in.
Carl, I tried making sure it was the https address, and cleared all Geotech1 cookies before visiting, it makes no difference.

It's disappointing that VBulletin tech support don't even know what version of the main browsers is needed for their software to run.

Looks like I'm going to have to try some of these minor browsers ... Blue Moon ? KaMeleon?

Unless I can do something smart, like copy cookies from one computer to another. Sounds like hard work, with a high chance of failure, but if the 'remember-me' cookie works, I probably won't have to touch the login for a year.
Guess some reading-up is called for.
