I am trying to repair Minelab Relic Hawk from my friend....
Earphone conector touched by accident battery conector, so Q301 transistor blowed up!
It is designated as Q301.....SOme friend told me that it is BC517...but when i tried it it blowed again...
Later it showed that original transistor has label as " TR51 PH7..."
But it is not BC517 or does not have same pin assinments.....
Tracing pcb showed pin order as E C B.....

I also changed LM339 (smt....huh!). Again no progress. I stucked on that damn transistor....
I tried 2N2222 and it not blowed (respecting different pin ***.) but it is not working either.
I can hear some silent "blah, blah" from ears....with 2N2222 on it...
    So .....?
    Any tip,hint?
Schematic posted on this forum is not accurate....Many things are not matched.....For example instead LM339, there is LM393 on schematic...etc.etc...

All powers are right! I have all the voltages correct...Nothing else warming up on finger check....
I was thinking only Q301 and asuming LM339 can blow in accident case, nothing else should...
    So people help!

Have you used a scope to look at the base of Q301. Is there any signal there?
If not, and you've already replaced the LM339, then probe around the multiplexer. There also seems to be a 1N4007 diode in series with Q301. Have you checked if it's ok?

      ....

Not.I busted my scope for a while....I do not have other....
      I'll try diode....
I was wandering about Q301? Which transistor is it? It could not be BC517...
Or it is but with different pin asignments...?

        One more thing...

One more thing! Do not pay attention on posted schematic in this forum it is not accurate at all....
I found out a lot of mistakes.....
The fact is that i do not have proper one...

          BSR51

          Transistor Q301 is BSR51 not BC517.....
But now when known can be replaced with simillar....
I have to replace again LM339, cose it seems that it blowed again when tested diff. other transistors...Also 4053 might be bad.....
          I'll see....
If any more hints, tips come here and thanks in advance...
          Yo Carl !
Can you help here a bit?
