  • old vlf/tr coils with PI

I hope this is in the right forum..Wth such schematics as Hammerhead ,garys, stuart, and zisme..Can the old coplanar coils be implemented as a suitable coil in PI?
I have an old garrett vlf/tr , 11 inch coil that was used in the low freq range (not too sure if it was 6. something kilo herts)
Maybe some different fly back resistor could be used?
    any one try this ?
thanks ..I am only learning so far..

In most cases, no, inductance on VLF coils is usually too high, and many of them have shunt tuning caps inside the coil.

      OLD COILS FOR PI

I was told that the old Garrett BFO coils would work on their original Seahunter PI's. All that was needed was the proper connector. Not sure if it would work on other PI's on different frequencies? FYI Joe
