Although on another topic I criticized monochrome displays and the "boredom" they bring to new models... I like this display.
A very smart choice! It reminds a bit of an ink type display, doesn't it? I do not believe.
The very positive experience with the X5 gives me the right to believe that the V80 is a very good detector.
Phew! Now I'm in trouble! Now I will think about getting it soon!

I had a Quest X5 a couple of years ago.
Now I have this Q40. All in all, a very good machine.
The build quality of the bar, grip, coil and armrest is incredibly good. the back of the case is also excellent.
But the front panel is with some soft rubber that started to deteriorate very quickly.
But the biggest problem is the sudden "blurring" of the front transparent plastic protection. I don't know how this came to be?
This spoils the overall impression and pleasure of working with this very fine machine.
I wonder if this is just a removable front sticker or is it an integral part of the panel?
In both cases this is a problem! When the backlight is turned on; you can clearly see the elements on the LCD and there are no problems.
Yet, the blur is still there.
Is there anyone on the forum who has a contact at Quest to ask about this? And a potential solution?
I can also ask directly on their website, but I know from previous experiences that it is of little use.
However... at this distance, these kinds of problems are easiest to solve through "insiders".

What else to say?
However... the people from Quest pleasantly surprised me with the decision to put "hard" keys instead of a membrane foil!
This is a very (servicing) user-friendly solution!
Because the keys can be easily replaced as needed. As well as the Lipo battery which is standard and can be easily found.
What else to say?
Preliminary testing gave excellent results! I am very satisfied.
These days I will go out into the mountains with it for a little more serious testing.

That would mean I have to open it again.
There are 6 small screws that don't give me much confidence.
I'll open it one more time though.
The inscriptions are very faint and difficult to read.
I have both a magnifying glass and a microscope.
I will try to "decipher" the inscriptions.
But apparently one of those two IC circuits (and maybe both) is ADC 100%.
