like always - luck of information. BTW every EVERY buyer of DP board ask me to give - FULL SCHEMATIC, last revision, FULL part list,
diagrams, manual for collect etc. WHY this seller gives NOTHING???? why i must believe all he promises???

Depth Doubler is fully analog cirucit with few special components.
If I give the schematic; what I do?
I think it is more fair to say : "I don't give anything without money" then to give falsed schematic and pcb with lot of intentional mistakes, right?
Until I get the money; I'll give nothing. And when I get the money; only buyer will have all what he need to successfully replicate the device.
This is too good to be easy shared across the internet.
If you don't want to buy it; then wait, maybe buyer will share it later.
Or join several other interested people in this, join the money and buy it from me.
So far this costed me over 1000 euros + my several weeks hard labor. Because device is bought on Ebay for 600e + terrific taxes and additional shipment and import costs.
And now you are asking me to spit on all that and give you something for nothing?
You can believe my words, I am here 17 years on this forum, by now you should learn me better. I don't fool the people like that.
I can make jokes, but when the business is in question; I am deadly serious and I don't improvise.

Smart diyer will buy this and make dozen and sell them in no time. Not only he will return invested money; if he is smart enough: he will make small fortune from this.
My personal tragedy is because I live in very small country which is fed up with detectors and similar equipment. So I can not count on good sale here.
Eventually I will sell few of those in time. Previous experiences are telling me that. People here are fed up and not having enogug money.
There is huge financial crisis going on here and across the EU and other close countries.
Inflation is 15% here, but nobody talks about that. We feel that on our skin, everyday going into grocery store and paying basic goods for incredible lunatic prices.
Huge inflation and devalvation is ongoing and governments are acting dumb, lying and making false claims. Incomes are lower and spends are increasing each day.
This 2023. is one of the worst year that I remember in my life. I am seriously worried now. Very bad times are coming for me and us here.
So... although I am far from being the materialist; with huge regret and shame: I am pushed and forced to focus on money now.

God somehow arranged it as if it were Murphy himself! When it comes to my life.
In 2018, I started and finished a very good 3D Euromag project, a gradiometer/magnetometer.
And if by any chance I am German, English, Iranian even, Arab ... Turkish or American and if I lived anywhere in a big country with a big market and big number of people
by now I would have sold a large number of those devices and gotten rich.
The same applies to a large number of projects that I have worked on so far. I haven't posted most of it here on the forum.
I mostly did special requests for industry. But a very small number of devices.
SMW... for example, 20 years ago I would have sold it in a million copies!
IGSL... and now this Depth Doubler, which is not my project but someone else's, but it has long since become obsolete and disappeared from the market.
Nothing is known about it. It is very difficult to pick up even the slightest information about it.
For example, if I am in Turkey; I would sell at least 10,000 devices there!
But my personal tragedy is that I live in Serbia, a country that has had problems of one kind and another for 30 years.
It is expelled from the union of states, it is not a member of the EU, it is very difficult to do business with foreign countries.
Everything is 10-100 times more difficult and expensive, and such a situation renders any efforts to start mass production and to export and sell abroad meaningless.
It was as if God had played a very bad joke on me.
By now I would be a millionaire and have a very large and successful company. Instead, I wallow in problems, barely survive and very often make very bad compromises with myself.
Desperation is born from such a situation. And that's why I've posted a lot here on the forum for nothing over the past 17 years.
I didn't keep track of the number and I don't have statistics... but at least 10 very commercial things I posted here for free. Because I had no way to make money from it.
I tried to find foreign collaborators. More serious attempts were made in 2018 and 2019 around the 3D Euromag project.
If I can't do it myself; I believed that someone serious from abroad would appear and that we would do some good work.
Alas!
Unfortunately, 100% of those who answered were not serious.
They expected to take advantage of me without investing anything.
Countless correspondences, emails, empty stories, even funny children's stories.
They were just wasting my precious time.
I even had a Chinese guy (he used a Chinese email service and a Chinese name) end up wishing me to die of covid in the most terrible agony,
because I didn't want to give him a 3D Euromag project for free!
That's my story.
Instead of regularly earning normal income and having funds for further work and new projects; I struggle, I suffer, I spend
the little money that is intended for the mere survival of my family... in the hope that one day, sometime, a miracle will happen and that I will
earn at least a decent amount from my work. And thereby buy myself time and opportunities to improve my work.
Of course that didn't happen and I don't believe it will ever happen.
When I die, my grave stone should carry: "born at the wrong time and in the wrong place... but now he rests in the right place!"

So... you are not even aware that you are very close to discovering one of the special components on the device.
Although I have been dealing with electronics for a long time, I have never used such a component before, for the first time on this device,
so I was very interested in learning something new.
There are two such components on this device with different specifications.
Not to continue with the guessing game; it is about PPTC components and how they are used in the device.
On the other hand, not to reveal everything; PPTC is a very interesting component and it is good to study it a little.

Perhaps this is for eco-friendly reasons? The high voltage AC signal stuns all the earthworms, which is seen as cruel. Using a PTC Polyfuse to trip out the AC output for a short while lets the poor annelids recover, and head to the surface for safety. Before stunning them again when the polyfuse resets. They have a short memory, so can't recall being zapped repeatedly.

It is possible that this was the primary idea and desire of the author (naaa) ... but he achieved a completely different effect in the device.
One PPTC does not allow a current draw of more than xA, and the other on the second stage of the device does not allow more than yA.

Diodes to protect against reverse-battery connections, a fuse for overload protection. When you are playing around with big lead-acid batteries, you do not want any 200A disasters.

You are not wrong.
We are talking aout the same... on different ways.
There are few critical spots and moments where things can go wrong, therefore the PPTC to save the day.
For example; probes can accidentally touch each other, which will cause high current draw. Or soil can be with a lot of moisture aka very low resistance; also can cause high current draw etc.
Or operator can make mistake and place probes too close. Although there is red led to indicate that too. But with high amp accu one can not rely only on that led. Voltage drop will not be immediate.
On the bench I experimented with 15 ohms / 20 W to mimic the soil. Resistor becomes very hot after 10 - 15 seconds while the "main active component" still remains cool.
Next I tried 3R3 and things went faster and uglier... until PPTC activated and cut off. "Main active component" was hot too and on the edge. Without heatsink.
So... your previous question about cooling was my question to myself too. Just in any case I added heatsink. Though... no heatsink on original device.
And yes, some pople (like me) will pick 5 to 7 Amps accu to use with it and some people will use 34, 45, 55, 65, 72....100, 200 Amps accu!
For larger area with dryer soil; it will be needed device to run for 2 hours at least, to have an effect. Yet I heard also it can stay On overnight too.
PPTC allows x or y Amps to flow through. Unless something goes wrong, than it will warm up and cut off.
