    Still working on the scope. Remember Carl's reply regarding my attempt of locating the issue with my scope. Quote: " Obviously the deflection circuits are not working. But it could be anything from the HV power supplies to the signal source. With the horizontal deflection somewhere there is a sawtooth ramp generator whose frequency is set by the time scale knob. Try to find that and see if it's working. Ironically, you will need an oscilloscope to do that. Any other way of checking signal without a scope?
    Still don't know what to do, to cheap and I'll regret it, or else get a more expensive one and not need it enough to justify the purchase. Been watching some of the more noteworthy YouTubers to find an honest review. One is Richard at Learn Electonic Repair. He seems to be non bias and honest but I don't know about his integrity. I welcome any honest information regarding this subject.
    And of course measuring detector frequencies will be an added use of a scope.
