With all my respect for the guys here helpin ya out gettin youre 808 to work,
but please better do yourself a favour and get some Jeohunter or Jeoscan
    or anything like this!

Cause otherwise you're treasurehunting could lead into a frustrating demotivation!
I found an 1,5cm bullet 15cm below (0.75inch lenght at 6inch depth) 3 weeks ago
with Jeohunter almost half meter large coil and at the same time I can get very
    deeeep stuff, too!

The tm808 is completly unpractical. Bearing the shovel on your sholder and leaving
your bag and finds somewhere - all this leads to "nowhere".
Never save your money at the wrong end.

Hello Good evening, I'm Gabriel from Argentina, I want to modify my TM-808 detector, I hear the waves as they bounce off instead of the horn, is it possible?

      Greetings and thanks.

Hola buenas noches, soy Gabriel de argentina, yo quiero modificar mi detector TM-808, quiero escuchar las ondas cuando rebotan en ves de la bocina, ¿es posible esto?

      Saludos y gracias.

does anybody know the specs of those resistors and capacitors?
why is it here http://www.geotech1.com/forums/showt...oil-inductance different? Or isnt it?

thanks for your quick reply kt315.
but its without cave mode then i guess. And with the new board (resulting from the new schematic from the forum i guess) i wont need these little platines?
The new schematic leaves me with a lot more questions than the old one from 1994... so i would prefer the old type.

Do you think, the new type is somehow "better"?

Did anybody in this forum finish this project and built his TM808 including coils??

                Would be interessting...

i also compared the two schematics (new and old one) with each other. Its almost the same expect to a resistor with 20 ohms (the new has 220 kohms?!) and a capacitor and of couse the cave-mode-circuit (a few CIs are different sectioned but in the end its the same)

I´m a bit confused after all, but i will just start with ordering the parts and beginning the do the main board.... and hoping to get more information about details.
For example in the old schematics there are little tiny capacitors drawn paralell to the RX/TX-coils without specs.

                  Who knows more about them?

                  Thanks in advance...
                  Manuel

its a very old design long overdue for an upgrade ,its far too heavy for no good reason .
i hear XP are working on a featherlight carbon fibre modern state of the art design for deep hoards.
                    i had a 808 in the 80s .

kt315, would you build it with or without the cave mode?
                        greets

                        • only one man had built the TM-808 and got an result, his board was been in SMD. I wrote his nick - veltex.

                          good luck

                              • Hi

one of my friend is master science in electronic field. I have plan to give him the latest schematic (TM-808 SMD) and ask him to make a PCB for me. he said that If I have a schematic it is possible to make a good PCB.

so please let me know If I had a PCB for this schematic, could I build this detector? I meas does this schematic correct and completely? and the coil for this schematic is same as on that sent on previous page?

are these pic and schematic for the same device?
