phase inverter for sd/gp coils

hello......my first post here.....this forum seemed the place to ask this question......

i have read about nuggetfinder xp type coils with a switch to invert the response from targets from woo-wee to wee-woo......

if i built a short adaptor cable plugged to the control box which switched + to - would this accomplish the same effect when used with other coils?

i am guessing the nf xp switch to be only a 4 pole double throw toggle....

but there might be something else going on here.......
