  • What makes a hybrid PI?

    To all members...

What are the classic design specifications of a hybrid PI detector? Is there any information that defines a hybrid PI detector?

For me, a hybrid detector is one that combines a PI (transient step) response with a reactive (VLF-like) response. There are different ways to do it including half-sine, what Voodoo does, and even using an IB coil in a traditional PI design to look at the TX-on response.

Here is one more Hybrid. Very energy efficient and powerful.

            Hi Tinkerer,

What is the schematic for this hybrid MD with these TX waveforms?
