  • Fisher CZ6 & 1266

    They finally arrived!
    What time is it now?
    2:13 am!
The logistics took a little longer but everything turned out well in the end!
    A dream come true!
To have two models that I once loved so much!
Thomas, I have to give you credit and congratulations because the detectors have been preserved fantastically!
I haven't tried them, I don't have the energy right now, I'm sleepy.
    All the best!

I kept quiet about this until it came true.
Finally, my long-time wish to have CZ and 1266 detectors in my collection was fulfilled.
But the condition was that they were very well preserved.
These two are in even better condition than I expected, I don't know how much you can see in the pictures.
Except for the upholstery on the part below the elbow, which are visibly aged; everything else, especially the detector boxes, are in mint condition, like new!
What else can I say except to thank Thomas again and congratulate him on the detectors that have been preserved like this!

Thomas; all 11 cats i have are now in the cardboard box you packed the detectors in!
There is no way I can get them out of the box, they throw their sharp claws everywhere!
There's a big fight going on over the box, I don't dare interfere.
I forgot to take a picture of that!

Good to see that the detectors have found the right place to stay. I bought the CZ6 many years ago (actually in 2004) from an old guy in the US, the 1266 form an Englishman. They both served me well and I never felt urged to change to a DEUS or something else, since the both are pretty powerful when used correct. I would have kept them if I wouldn't have changed to PI. Happy to see that you are happy too. Have fun with the two detectors, they indeed are great machines.

For now I can only try the 1266 and the CZ will wait as I don't have any batteries for it at the moment.
(I live in the mountains and I need to go down to the city to get batteries and it's snowing outside... I really hate going down to the city now).
So... it's an understatement to say that I'm delighted with the behavior of the 1266.
Somehow we easily forget over time how good machines they are!

I completely agree; it is a bit mor difficult to set than the CZ6 since there is no dedicated ground balance, but for the ones that know how to handle "old" analog detectors, pretty cool and powerful if set correctly

can anybody say what CAD was used to do the PCB file?

                    TIA

I have tested the CZ6 and it works perfectly.
But I'm currently working on some "additions".
Namely... since 2010 I can't use headphones because I have an ear injury and headphones create a problem for me.
So I decided to install a speaker for it.
Very delicate issue as I am not sure what the original speaker is like.
In the schematic I have, it is stated that it is 100 ohms. Very hard to find.
I have one less than 100 ohms but it sounds quieter than it suits me.
Then I found a small one over 50 ohms that sounds perfect. But it is larger in size.
I don't have a better speaker solution for now.
I'll use this one for now until I get a thinner one that's more aesthetically pleasing.
I'm also 3D printing an under-elbow attachment for Lipo batteries.
I will post pictures or a video when everything is finished.

But also it can be imported into CircuitMaker too:

KT315 if you want Sprint Layout file; back in a day I drew it according to the info I got then.
Not sure if it is 100% correct.
                              Here it is:
