MC33078 and other stuff on Bandido II
    Hi all,
I'm collecting components to make the Bandido II uMax design (using Gary's PCB desing) and don't know what to use instead of MC33178 and maybe TLC2262.
I've contacted Farnell Co. and seems they haven't MC33178 and so I can buy in a local store the old MC33078 but don't know if they are a good replacement.
Also think that maybe MC33078s could replace TLC2262s.
What do you think about ?

Another thing: what are the right capacitors ? I have a revised schematic (from Gary) that uses different value. Which are corrects ?

    ---

    ^^^
Already posted in the project section. No response yet.
    Anyone can help (kt315 maybe)?

    Best regards,
    Max

I believe my revised values to be correct.
In any case, they did work well for me.

Sorry, Not sure about any of those other Integrated Circuits as Substitutes. I used all the Origional ones.

      Hi Gary,
thank you anyway. I'll try your revised values and buy the original ics from digitek as Satel suggest.

      Best regards,
      Max

        Hi Max,

I didn't know there was a Farnell on Mars.

The MC 33078 and Mc 33178 are still being made by ON Semiconductor or ST. They are available from Digikey and Mouser here on Earth in the US.
As for substitutes, the noise specs are very impressive on these two units, so I wouldn't substitute anything for them if possible. This would be especially true for the MC 33078.

Now, the MC 33078 in the PDIP is available on Ebay by someone across the pond in the UK.

The MC 33078 is a lower noise unit than the MC 33178 but draws a little more current.

            Hi Reg,
here on Mars it's hard to find stuff (iron stones and bricks apart)!
Well, seems that were I live it's not a simple thing to find some stupid components (I had a lot of MC33178 in the past but I burnt all of them in other electronic projects and now they are hard to find here)
Thanks for the info: finally I've got a bunch of MC33078 in a local store and think that them could be fine. Also my cousin has some new TLC2262 so I think I'll do the bandido pretty soon. I'll also try to buy these things from digitek or mouser as you suggest, to have some spare replacement available.

            Best regards,
            Max

thanks for the link but I can't buy them directly from Farnell UK (I use farnell-in-one website to order stuff there and just had no chance to buy from uk- I can buy only from newark-US or from my country farnell-stock).

              Thanks anyway,
