  • is that possible???

    Hello,
I want to manufacture detector where will also exist a transmitter of enough watts in distance of 10 metres a receptor, as 2 box detectors but bigger, in order to i have bigger field of detecting. How you see this idea it is feasible?
    Waits for your criticisms!!!!

If you use watts, the boxes must be separated far. Also coils will be gross in order 1 cm diameter wire (if copper, the heavy is problem, so your wire option is aluminium). I saw a 2 boxes handled by 4 men (soldiers). Only for big object. A colonel said me they detect a old bucket at 4 meters and more big item buried at 7 meters. I remember the wire was aluminium cover with fabric. The transmitter transistor was type BD135. But I think this type of detector is "outlaw" (no problem is if for security, type walkthrough), always the problem is when the type of detector is for hobbyism. Drawing:

      Hello Esteban,
      thank's for your reply!
I mean a metal detector which the transmitter will be constant and the receiver will be to the hands of the operator(only the receiver)and the operator will can walk around the transmitter 10 metres,so the yoking will sweep bigger area than a typical metal detector.
I would try to contruct a machine like this and if you want from your experience to help me to the following:
1.)in which frequency is the better to work this detector?(i think 200-300HZ very low frequencies, what you say about that?)
2.)maybe i will lose the targets 20X20cm or 30X30cm,i mean maybe is only for very big targets this kind of detector?
3.) i think to use at first a portable oscilloscope like receiver with a coil circuit in the transmitter frequency!!!

Thank's about your time, and i am waiting your comments!!!
      Friendly CHRIS!!!!!!

        A Detector with some teeth

        Chris,

IF I were to build an EM detector,I would have a transmitter set at 14KHZ (to detect small stuff like gold nuggets),connect the audio oscillator into a 12volt automobile power amp (off the shelf) and the output go into a pair of ground rods spaced 20 meters apart. For the receiver you could use something as simple as a 74HC4046A PLL to measure the phase shift and parallel that with an AM detector to a meter for the amplitude connected to you 12" pickup loop. And instead of using a cable from the transmitter to the reciever to sync., have crystal controlled oscillators and at the transmitter site, adjust the receivers crystal osc. for zero phase before you start out (see "Field Geophysics by John Milsom page 124 at a University Library).

        Just my 2 cents worth,

        Hope this helps,

        Randy

          Thank's about your reply!!!

Hello Seden and thank's alot about your reply!
I would like to explain me what you mean when you write ground rods, what kind of rods are you propose?
          Also you wrote:

What you mean AM detector???Can you explain me???
I will try to read the book which you propose me.
          Thank's about your time!!!
          Regards:
          Chris

            A question Chris

            Chris,
What is your knowledge of electronics? Do you know of anyone that is in the field of electronics or is a Amatuer Radio Operator?
I can explain what I've written but if you don't know how to implement it,it's not going to help.

Please email me or give me your address and I'll try and help you. My email is [email protected] and I don't mind drawing up a schematic as long as there's someone who knows how to build it and get it going.

            Randy

              Yes it's possible

Yes,it's possible but you must to contsruct this by yourself
Nobody can help you because nobody knows, make your constructional project line and go for

              Good luck...Chris
