  • hi

is it normal to hear buzzing sound when osc. on TGS starts?

-i am going step by step ,first power supply then osc. and i noted that when
    coil is conected sound appears
    going on nervs

    • Sound is the batt. check, made by 10uF tant cap etc.
So no broblem, look first mails !

        • Hi...
Dear friends Can I use BF245A instead of BF245C?

          Thanks...

          • Hi,
According to my excperiance there will be no great diferance when you use BF245A or C.Important is that you put JFET there. You could use J107 if you can find.

            perdica 2

Afther batt check there shouldnt be such buzz.
Have you completed the hol PCB?
            If not what you excpect.
Also the coil must be nulled right way.
All datas are right.I have two TGS and both working like hell.
Buy the way I were fieldtesting the second TGS again yesterday. And were amaized.I were able
to detect 25usC from around 30cm in air.And almost the same in the ground.
            So device is worth efforts.
And to tell you the true my first TGS were working perfect from the first switch on.

            • Hi,

              Hi,
Did anyone noticed this.On bigger coils Tesoro guys use graphite powder mixed carbom fibres for shielding. All made when sealing the coil.
Also can sombody tell me what is 12" x 10" in cms?
              Thanks

              12" x 10" Widescan Coil
The 12x10 widescan is designed to penetrate deeply in highly mineralized sites that are not burdened with an
abundance of junk. The Double D windings “see” 70% less ground effect than a concentric-style winding.
This will give you smoother operation in areas where the ground matrix tends to shift. This coil will
utilize our Monolithic shielding. Carbon fibers and graphite powder have been mixed into the raw plastic
used to form the coils. This technique provides an even RF shielding across the entire surface of the coil

                  Hello Tiktak , 12 in. x 10 in. is approximately = 30.48 cm. x 25.40 cm.... I think it is correct ??..........Eugene52

                    Hi,
                    Simonbaker.
                    Yes results are very good.
But this is thanks to Ivconic,Max,Qiaozhi,kurtie100 who posted the file and other top members here.Because without all the usefull info posted here the PCB only is usless.
                    Thanks for the info.
Did you finish your TGSL?What are results?
                    See you.

                    Thanks.
So Max have mannaged to made much bigger coil then Tesoro )))
                    He,He,He man never nows?
                    Great

I agree. No, I have not finished, other things keep getting in the way, but I keep inching forward.

                      Cheers!

                      • omega-coil-TGSL?

I just wanted to ask Ivconic about omega-coil for TGSL.
Is it ok to use: Tx=21 cm (small contra 9 cm) 98-windings,
                        Rx=10.5 cm 167-windings, WG 0.25 mm.
In some previous posts I read that it could be beneficial and solid design, cos Im not needing large depth, just stabile device for small items.
                        Thanks in advance!!!

Keep 6mH for TX and 6.5mH for RX and coil will work just fine. Also must be balanced well.

                              • Ok! So the numbers are pretty much right. The only thing now is I don't know how much of inductance change will happen when Al shield is put on? The posts all say that if I tighten up the coils, then the inductance should rise by about 1 mH. (roughly speaking...).
I would guess that you don't use kitchen foil (for turkey baking ).

How do you calculate Omega Tx coil inductance?
