or place a small piece of foil somewhere at the overlap gap to influence the null procedure while looking on your multimeter you will find the right places

        • Glad sukri01. For me it was also more comfortable that size, that is the only difference with the design of Eduardo. On the other hand, I finally never tried with the two tones, despite having the board ready, with all components in place ...
Good luck with your project and if you can, post some pictures in the forum.

          regards,

          Fabian

          PS: 31"? Are you sure?

            • im in a bit of confusion here.. ive made another tgsl edu fist one works ok, the 2nd basically ok but it doesnt reject iron, and it makes sound when coil wires is touch., anybody got same experience before?

              • Yes. Mine turned out to be a bad solder joint. You may have a dead channel, but no way of knowing without chasing it down with a scope. Maybe start by looking at your disc channel?

                • got it, thanks anyway.. turns out the -12v wire was nearly spoilt.. heres a picture of my finished tgsl.. thanks to veryone for help especially to fabian for the small pcb design.

                  • Nice work!
What is the weight of the coil by itself, and the whole unit?
Would like to see a vid of it in operation.

                    • please, help me and me who made this project can tell me the value of the coil that used it, thanks in advance

                      • TX=6mH and RX=6.5mH

You can download the complete details here;http://www.geotech1.com/forums/showt...mplete-Details
That contains a coil building guide.

Though for much improved operation you might want to use the Minelab coils specs as outlined in the IGSL thread.

Thanks to Ivonic who discovered that it would work. You do have to make a new transmitter though (2 transistors).

                          • a VLF is more difficult here do it because you have all the data successfully..http://www.geotech1.com/forums/showt...mplete-Details

                            • Hi guys

I have asembled KIT TGSL EDU from silverdog.
After connecting it without ICs I don't have -5V
also I tried connecting LM358 - on lower right part of PCB with same results.
LM 358 is oriented "down" so it is OK

                              I do have +12V and +8V from lm7808.

LM358 is making -5V in this TGSL ?

Tried again with no ICs ... device uses 66mA and it is rising do 90mA ... still rising I disconnected it.
                              No coils connected.

                              Any advice ?

                              • -5 is generated by sine wave of tx so you have to mount at least oscillator parts and ic and the tx coil too.
