Not really. If you discriminate large aluminum almost all other targets will be discriminated out also.

thanks for answer. finished my tgsl some weeks ago. This thread made it possible. works pretty well with fm transmitter. Was a nice puzzle to solve for a person who bought his first multimeter 2 months ago.

What did you use for a stem.

Wooden stick, i had one that fits right into crutch and PVC pipe. Coil is connected to pvc, so length is adjustable. Pretty well balanced, i can hold it with just 2 fingers near fm transmitter and angle stays right.

I can do that(edit:tomorrow), but coil is still not finished.(sanding and need to bring mV down by 2) Living in a city, tools and workrooms at countryside.

Yellow numbers are my lithium over discharge protection Have to check it from time to time. Easy to fully charge as many batteries as you can carry or buy and take them with you.Got those green ones from makita drill battery. Had to build charger also. There is very slighty hearable continuous noise in sound, nothing serious. (must be set as mono or you can hear whistle, not loud tho).No delay in sound. But i can say my metal detector has a remote!!

nice but i think better you try go outside in land and test stable or not
cos i hear sound when you touch the handle

Steel box is really not good environment for metal detector. You should hear what happens in kitchen, nonstop screaming outside i can play baseball with it and tell you if there was any metal inside the ball.
