Can i use Musketeer coil with TGSL board??,
long time i read here i must use small pcb made for Musketeer coil but i cant find here.

        • TGSL will work with a coil without a capacitor inside on TX winding. ie tesoro uses SIMPLEST construction of a coil - NO RESISTANCES
          NO CAPS.
whites coils WITH THE capacitor in TX side are not fitted tesoro schematics. really THIS CAPACITOR IS THERE, IN TGSL TOO, BUT in THE TX generator, as THE PART of IT. CAP IN BOTH CASES set THE FREQUENCY OF A DETECTOR just cause L * C gives THE (F) VALUE,
          KILO-HERTZ.

so Muske... has or not the capacitor... no data... ABSENT. minelab often uses PREAMP in their coils.
NO DATA there is the preamp in Muske coil or not.

          • you can use ts800 or ts1000 coil for muski (rx1mH / tx10mH)

but you have to assemble an additionel pickup pcb on your tgsl pcb (the minelab coil Oszillator)

            • yea. you can take TX part from Troy shadow x5 kinda like as 'universal TX generator' and use any VLF coil.

              • Hello to all, can somebody tell me if I can repleace the J107 transistor with other J's like J105 or J106? On TME.eu there is no J107 only 106-105.

                • Well from this; https://www.fairchildsemi.com/datasheets/J1/J105.pdf the big difference is Gate-Source Cut-Off Voltage.
                  J106 might work if your voltage is in range;

                  J106 -2.0V to -6.0V
                  J107 -0.5V to -4.5V

                    • FatBob, you are certainly right. indeed the fet working in the clue mode. ie that you write has not deep sense.
alike in amplifier active mode yes that has a sense.

                      • Thanks for the answer. I have found BF245c but its expensive 2euro/piece. Than J106 would work right?

                        Comment

                        • i write AGAIN. you can (CAN) use J105 and J106.

                          • Thank you very much!

                            • I cant get the Rx residual voltage below 0.28 volts. Is that because of the coils or the PCB?

                              • on preamp output you see this voltage? WHERE?
