Hi, I own a Whites XLT-E and was wondering if there was anyway to check it out to see if it needs a service. For some reason when I bought the detector, I loved it. It worked great. But, now it seems that it is not performing as good as I remembered. I found out that there is no calibration needed, but the coil could have gone out of tune. Is there any way to check the coil out? I was also told by a whites' employee that the capacitor values driving the coil could have wavered over time. Is it worth it to replace them?? The detector is about 10 years old.
Thanks, Dan.
