I have a garret master hunter cx with treasure hound (two coil), 4.5 inch coil and 8.5inch coil. I wanted to ask the more experienced people here (like Carl) how this metal detector is performing compared with other detectors for all out depth performance, for example gti2500 vs. Master hunter? I have looked at charts ( like this:http://free.polbox.pl/d/dark/testy.htm#fh7) and it seems that in air to ground test comparison ,the detectors that get the longest distance in air test (garrett gti 2500 for example) loose about 1/3 of that distance once tested on in ground targets, and detectors that don't have that long range in air test loose about 1/4 the distance once the target is in ground (but still get beat by the longer distance detectors). I don't trust charts much because i read that some of them are sponsored or done by manufacturers of metal detectors. I don't have my Master Hunter here to test but from what I'm reading there is no universal metal detector ( i got mine because i could use it on deep big targets (two coil) and smaller targets).
So if i may ask this:
1.how would the garrett master hunter do with a 12.5 inch coil i all depth mode assuming no mineralization in ground? Could it come close in finding a target lets say 1 inch in diameter at about the same depth as the other metal detectors ( I read some places that the gti 2500 is really good, some places that it is bad so i don't know how well it works)?
Thanks to all
