Does anyone know anything about these 2 detectors. Frankly I know nothing about the 95. I know that the 120 B has an analytical meter and has been reported to find small and large objects deep especially in Great Britain! I would like to know more about the Arado 95!........Thanks Joe

120B and 130 were about 5 khz with ferrous non ferrous meter and 2D coil. these were the top detector in UK for a long while. Most 120B will be about 30 years old now. 120B was liked better than 130. A 120B went recently on Ebay for about £250.00. You have to be carefull with these now though as they have potted circuits with some parts now breaking down ( probably Polystyrene Capacitors ). They can be OK for an hour or so and then become unstable. IBA 95 was a 18 KHZ detector with 2D coil, and was meant for salt wet beach work. These also have potted circuits and are getting a bit old now. 95 had a small trimmer capacitor that got corroded and caused instabilty, but this was easily replaced. Both or these detectors had 10 volt electrolytics that sometimes shorted.

I think these were made from about 1970 to about 1986. They have a number stamped on the battery door and either the 1st or last 2 numbers give the year of manufacture. There is an expensive 10 turn tuner in the handle that can give trouble. Some people fitted a bigger diameter tube to the handle so they could use a lower cost 10 turn tuner. One thing about the 10 volt caps. It was quite common for these machines to get sold as not working with a complete short on the batteries. The batteries would get hot.
Just change the 2 caps and all is working again.
