    ...UPDATE...

BESIDES THE LAST POST....I have not been on this forum in about 4 years....I still collect the AH Pro detectors.... do not use them as much as I use to....a while back I receive a Brochure that described each model and told what frequency that each model was at.....very informative ....not all of the models are on the same frequency...I use to think that there was No Difference between the Super Pro and the Super Pro V besides a tone control on the V.....that is Not so....the Super Pro is Not very responsive to Nickels and Rings but Highly Responsive to silver and clad coins....the Super Pro V was made to be more responsive to the Nickels and Rings at least that is what the brochure stated....I wanted to find out for myself....so one is on the way.....LOL....Playing with the other models I found that the Pro-2 is also very responsive to Rings and Nickels....I have given up on the idea of making a biger coil for any of the models....I figured that there was a reason that Allan chose to make most of them with the 6 inch coil...it is very responsive to all targets ...pinpointing is very easy .....and I can determine if the target is shallow or deep....there were a few models that came with the 8 inch coil but None of them are in my collection....I must have at least 5 to 7 AH Pro detectors...MerrY Christmas...Joe

      Hi Joe,

Keep us informed about the Super Pro V and how well it does with nickels.

As for the Phantom, it does ok on nickels and small gold and that is why I decided to play more with it. I have a trash ladened place where I want to use it.

The Phantom doesn't ground balance perfect but comes close and is easy to use in my bad ground where the other A.H. models really struggle. So, I want to try this detector in some gold country where I have found gold before. I just wish it did a little better on gold but I will live with how it works.

BTW, I went to the A.H website and left them an email. Here is their website.

        ....REG...

Nice to hear from you again......visit me on the other website...if you do not know it...here is my email [email protected] I will give it to you in private....do not remember how Carl reacts to links to other forums??......I am blessed that most of my Detecting Area of Texas has Neutral soil...so I can get depths way beyond most people especially if they live in Colorado??........LOL.....the biggest problem here is that another good spot to hunt is on the Texas Coast...ie...the Gulf of Mexico...some detectors do Not handle the wet salt beach very well...ie the Garrett Ace 250 and a few others...I have Not used the AH Pros on the beach much since I really do Not want to expose them to the damp salt sand and salt air....I have enough problems keeeping my vintage detectors in working order.....LOL........I always wanted a Quintron or the Phantom...but usually hear they are in Non-Working condition and I already have too many on the repair list....I will keep you informed on the progress of the Super Pro V...hopefully it arrives this week...maybe next since the mail is sluggish around this time of year.....MERRY CHRISTMAS.....JOE
