    Hi unregistered person!

Saxon, Viking, Red Heat, Nexus, Fieldmaster and C-Scope. Any I've missed?
So which ones are the copies?

                Vic the Magician dies

Just heard on the grapevine the sad news that Vic Fiveash has died from cancer at the age of 62. Vic who was known to many as “Vic the Magician” made Red Heat detectors in a small scale way from a flat in Peckham South London. I believe Vic picked up the Magician tag because he did a Magic act at kids parties etc.

I bought the Red Heat XD-17 about a year ago and decided to take it with me on my second Colchester England hunting trip. I havent really had a chance to hunt with it here at home much, cause I mostly use my Explorer SE to hunt parks for deep silver amongst the alum and foil trash commonly found in our parks. In England I also usually use the Explorer with the WOT coil and have done well and is my weapon of choice there. I did spend one whole day using and getting used to the Red Heat and I have to agree completely with "rink123" testimony above, I couldn't put in better words, everything he says is very accurate. I found as much if not more doodads, greenies, lead, ect, an occasional large piece of iron like a plow blade. The good thing was it was dead quiet compared to the SE or Exp2, I also compared signals with my sons Exp2 w/ WOT coil and would clearly respond to targets where the Exp2 would either miss it completely or give a very iffy signal, these targets would be very close to iron though from right next to it to maybe a couple inches away at the most, typically. We hunt the Explorers wide open in ferrous mode and listen to every low and high tone and curser location to decide what to dig, not sure if that would make any difference or not. Overall, I really like this machine and will be trying some local iron infested sites around here, will try and keep you posted.
