Anybody know something about locator Metro TCX 610 ???
I havent seen yet only got informations about it. Says something about 39 kHz......some labels "passive/active"....?
Is it only underground cable locator or something else?
    Any detailed informations?
    Any manual?
Dont know either is "western" product or "estern"?

      Hi ivconic,
what's that Metro TCX 610 ??? Never heard of it!
Sorry I don't know anything about... but Ivconic... what's that mod on GSabre at R40 ??? Why is different from schematic in pdf ???

      Best regards,

        Hi ivconic,
        I've googled it...
maybe you mean metrotech mod. 610 (obsolete) pipe & cable locator???

Is something like this (this is mod. 810)???

        Best regards,

It is not a mod. I saw on some small TSG pcb mistake, instead 100k somebody put 1M resistor. So when assembled TSG is acting funny...I traced pcb and found that mistake. When replaced with 100k it is working very good!
But this is case with small pcb for "Light" version. I made it, it is good. Sorry i cant post it here, it is not my property. If man who send it to me want, he will post it....
          Regards!

              Hi ivconic,
so in the component side diagram there is an error ?

I've found that R40 in PCB is connected ad nakky said, to anode of D12, not to catode of it as in the .pdf schematic... so seems that this problem is just related to wrong shematic drawing that is on the pdf. Take a look at it then seen on PCB -> on PCB 100K (you call it R40) resistor is connected as expected.

So you followed schematic for the right value of 100k instead of 1M.
About where is located the 1M wrong label ?

              Many thanks,
              Max

BTW is that you search info "metrotech 610" ???

                ?

                Huh! I am confused now?
Which pcb you are mentioning? The one (full) with Notch incuded, doesnt have any mistakes, i am sure. But i received another via e-mail (not allowed to post here) and it is for "Light" TSG. That one has mistaken resistor, instead 100k there is 1M....First i made it and it started to work weak and strange? I traced it and found that mistake. When resistor changed it started to work properly....excellent!

                  Hi ivconic,
now is clear to me too.
So it's the light version that had a bad label. Ok.

I was talking about original dutch project PCB, that is OK. I've noticed (after nakky notice) that there is a difference in connection between schematics (posted in .pdf file, by porkluvr) and PCB. In PCB the 100K resistor at last 2 comparators (the ones connected to sens pot.) is connected to anode of diode at output, where in the schematics 100k is just connected between pin5 and pin7... The PCB connection is the right - so PCB is OK.

Now everything is clear. Little mistake in schematic only.

I'm building the original one cause I want to test notch on GSabre... then probably I'll made the light version too.

                  Best regards,
                  Max

Yes. I tried to find any information but no success!
A friend asked me if i can find some more detailed informations or manual....
Using Google i gain everything but proper informations!?
                    Regards!

                      Hi,
found this (digital version of 810... but principle would be the same).

                        610

Thanks a lot! 610 must be older version.
Question was, is it possible to use simillar cable locator and mod it to make deep metal detector? Not mine question but from friend who own it...
                        Me,personally...i doubt it.Any ideas?

                          Hi ivconic,
                          it's a good question.

Think that transmitter + probe mode is unuseful in real search, if you don't know already there is some hollow underground (e.g. tunnel).

Second mode, for finding cables and metallic pipes, is much like two-box (with different antenna/coils shape, seems a gradiometer), and think could be used to locate stuff like in two-box detectors.

                          Take a look at this:
