Ive watched here on this thread for some time, nothing has been forthcoming on this good project for some time,is unfortunate? somebody starts something an in the end they dont follow thru with info, for whatever reasons?? I hope somebody Sisco or other project builders will fill in an complete?Info here sometimes is like a bad abstract painting? makes understanding for some, little or none to others?

Even it doesn't have a crystall! Its ATmega8 is run by internal RC circuit at 8MHz.

Good points. Thanks for that.
But Now I'm thinking about a Bigger Plan for Your metal Detector.
A "DATA LOGGER".
It's all about software and I'm good in this One.
But the problem is that information in above post about hardware was not enough for me to quite understanding the hardware and how this metal detector is working...
And it's so important to know about hardware for me if I wanted to start analyzing the software of micro.
There was a lot of German Words and some lines that I couldn't understand them…
Anyway,
I know as you said you have a problem with your English,
So can you explain the hardware, parts and the way Minipulse Working in another way or another Language? Russian, French, Persian, Italian?
I have friends in that countries and they can translate your Text quietly for me if you knew one of that languages?
However, hopefully if you did, do not send your information in forum in that languages. It's against the policy. I'll translate and will put the English version in here. Just send the information in my Box or mail.

Life is too short! Hurry my friend. Let's make it
Am interested to know how you got on with this project?
Got mine finished and running to a fasion, can detect metal at a short distance, can adjust gain and frequency from a very low blips about one/per second up to a very high frequency, other two controls make no difference and theres no pulses coming out of pin15 atmega8, Also lcd graph just showing bars across which are static.
My problem is flash hex programing into the micro control.
Im sure im missing something very simple but what it is im overlooking, I can flash pic chips with eyes closed, so why not the atmega.
Tryed 3 different types of avr programmers one of which Tepco posted here using buffers, which the led winks at me as if doing something, also made a barebones standalone atmega programming board with its own 5v regulator which atmega themselfs advised should work on there home page.
In theory from atmegas spec sheet I should be able to read the atmega8 factorys setting with the 1mhz internal oscillator as default with pony 2000 wireing the chip standalone barebones board with swith to ground reset pin 1.
I get the same problem reading the atmega 48, Just says cant find hardware -16 error.
If i press egnore tab it goes through the cycle, led blinks as if reading/writing, which takes about 45 mins to do whole cycle, then when varyfing which takes another 20mins, says failed.
These chips are direct from suppliers with default factory settings.
Can either you or some good fellow on here tell me where im going wrong?
No matter how you look at it they are a flash chip like the PIC ranges so why are they reacting so different to the point they cant even be read let alone programmed with a hex file.
Any help would be greatfully recevied no matter how minimal as im pulling my hair out here ive spent endless hours on and off the net, made more programmers than alot of people have had hot dinners and now prescently own seven atmega 8, five of which are still in there packaging and bought from various suppliers.
Once its sorted out will post on here all ive learned and mistakes that ive made during this process which has taken longer than building the project including the housing in which it all sits in.
Tryed this with 3 different computers with serial, LPT and serial to usb, on windows 7, XP, and 98 se
Regards
