  • Static Discrimination

A metal detector employing static discrimination. Within the scope of the invention is a two-frequency method and apparatus for discriminating between metal objects and ground. Also within the scope of the invention is a three-frequency method and apparatus for discriminating between ferrous and non-ferrous metal objects. The methods and apparatus do not require movement of the search head of the metal detector.

Do not require movement of the search head !!!

    My kind of detector.

So what do you guys think about one of these???

You probably have enough stuff around to build one.

Worth the effort??? Silly patent to cover some bases??

Does White's make one of these?? Model number.

    Anybody got a schematic???

    Whoops

Whoops forget to sign the post.

early in the morning and I can't do right.

Hey patent mentions >>>>>> Candy. by name. no joke.

    Candy. Candy.

Really you might want to read this one. Interesting info, not so much

      Math is easy

      Hi All,

and the math is easy, and even understandable.

apart from the ground at said second frequency, and wherein said first number is proportional to: tan−1 [(Y2object/X2object)ยท[(Y1ground/Y2ground)−(Y1object/Y2object)]/[(X1ground/X2ground)−(X1object/X2object)]]

As you all know this arctangent[function], and yields the phase

      in degrees.

        Hi,
the fact that most VLF with DISC are motion doesn't mean they MUST BE motion. There were also non-motion... and also DISC-NON-MOTION based not on IB but on BFO/OFF-RESONANCE principles... and they work for real.

You put the search head over the target and they change tone or beeps continuosly.

The fact most IB/VLF are motion when in disc mode or always is due to problems related to the non-motion approach that are easy solved by using the motion approach.

Also GEB in non-motion type detectors is much more complicated and critical to set than in motion types... motion are tollerant to dummy users... and solve some serious design problems without increase of manifacturing costs.

That's why the big players like them so much.

About the patent... JC1 already answered you.

        Kind regards,
        Max

china people HAD learned and made up the detector many years ago closed subject. you could buy these MD5008-5012 and get up this STATIC disc de facto.

Interesting but says discrimination not so good. It is possible

to build standard coil static that does work and does not need

swinging, I know, I have done it long ago on vlf.

Not sure why whites is using the multiple coils except maybe for

            frequency optimization.

                deep

                Hi Q,

Its detecting depth is 3-6m underground. It is manufactured with new advanced technology introduced from America.

It might be heavy but it sure can go deep.

Guess this is with the big coil.

                  deeper still

And just when you thought it couldn't get any deeper

somebody backs the dump truck up and unloads another load.

                  Asian Products

Through years of testing, we have now built advanced technology into this easy to use machine. The keys to locating and pinpointing caches have now been solved.

                  1) Ultrasonic Frequency: 400-3000Mhz+/-150Khz

                  {now thats what I call ultrasonic 3 GHz}

This is an LRL (with some dowsing rods). No chance of detecting anything, except wallets.
                    Wrong forum, I'm afraid.

                      yea

                      Hi Q,

Yea I know, just thought it was funny 3 GHz ultrasonic, knock off ??

made in Asia ? Is nothing sacred? I ran across it while looking at the

other Asian metal detectors, which I had never done before.

Thought it was worth a laugh. You are right though it does nothing

so where does it belong on the forum? ha ha who knows.

I'll give up of metal detectors, leave my familly, go deep in mountain and turn to monk!
With advertisements like this one...i really dont have chance to sell neither one more of my "average" handmades with detection up to 40cm max....
90% of further customers and users are absolute beginners, without previous knowledge and experiences. So it is very often that i have to explain reasons, why my beloved handmade cant go deeper than 35-40cm, and some good advertised scam has 3-6m depth!!! Damn!
So often phone is ringing and i have to hear same old story and give same old explanations....again and again..bit of tired...
Is there any law that prohibit these kind of advertisements?

If this MD5008 can detect Boeing 747 on more than 30cm i swear - i'll eat my TGS along with Al shaft and coil....without adding any spices!
