What´s your opinion to this kit´s - a simple children-detector?

Hi,
I don't know about it... but can see a PCB coil so think it's just another educational project to understand basics... but not something useful e.g. on the field. Maybe they attempted some disc software routine ?

Anyway... seems good to understand stuff but real one must have e.g. a real coil, shield, pole... etc even if project could be interesting to make another new MCU driven one...as starting point I mean.
