    Sorry rrwarren for not responding on time.
    yes i ll like to have the bounty hunter vlf840 manual.
    These days i don´t have to much time to write on the forum, but i ll when i get on vacations time very soon.

      nelson why don't the coil sound off on the metal bolt and wing nut on the coil? should i replace it with a nylon 1? did u get the manual i e-mailed thanks

        I used a plastic nut on the coil support. Also i used a 40 cms pvc tube to support the coil.

            frequency 840

            from what ive heard around 6.5 0r 6.9 real close to whites machines they been interfering with each for years. also some old white coils will work with the old b.h. machines there also been an adapter made for this i am trying to find 1 I will let u know when i do.

                Larger Coils??.................

                Before investing money to make a larger coil or special coil, BH made a 12 inch coil for this detector also. Although I do not own a VLF/TR 840, I have the De280 which is similar and it has the 8 and 12 inch coils! The De280 may work on the same frequency as the VLF/TR 840 but at this time I'm not sure! I like the De280 because besides all the features of the 840 it has a green target light which glows brightly or dimly depending on the strength of the target! It is great for nite hunting!..........HAPPY HOLIDAYS.............Joe
