    COMPASS 77B

RRWARREN, all of the original TR line of Compass works on 100Khz! Especially popular was the 77B and still popular today! Although they have no discrimination, they null out on iron square nails and can see inbetween them to find any non-ferrous targets such as coins. Try placing a iron nail next to a coin and scan it with a current detector, most will miss the coin! Now try it a with a Compass 77B and even place more nails next to the coin, and it will still see the coin! So this detector is still popular for Ghost Towns and old home sites!.........................every TH'er needs at least one of these in there detector arsenal!....................Joe

No, the X-70 is a lower VLF motion detector(about 14 KHZ?). The 100 KHZ detectors were non-motion types. They don't have much depth because they have no way to compensate for ground minerals but do find non-ferrous items under nails better than the more modern detectors to their usable depth.
