I experienced same thing, many times so far. But it seems it is not about server.It is a problem at local providers. Wait few hours and see. No problem at all! -

I agree, today there have been problems. I have filed a ticket with the hosting service. Yes, the server is Windows 95, but has SP2!

From a California DSL line there are occasions when this site is so slow that the browser times out after 30 seconds waiting for Geotech page data. All other websites are loading at normal DSL speeds. These slow Geotech server times come average once every week or two, and last for several hours, making it impossible to read pages or make forum posts. Makes me wonder if it is a transmission traffic problem, or maybe a server loading problem. I have been seeing very slow Geotech server response for the past 8 hours with the browser timing out after failing to load a Geotech page. Currently, the pages are loading slow intermittently, from nearly normal speed to 15 seconds, which is good enough for posting.

All of thunting.com, including Geotech, is on a shared server. Geotech is not a heavy-traffic site, and I can't justify the costs of putting it on a dedicated server. Sorry.
I intentionally use a host service running Linux & Apache, as they are far more stable, secure, and faster than Microsoft. And, a few days ago I got an email from my host service that said toward the end of Feb. they will be moving all sites to a new faster server farm. So some of this slowness might be from work they are doing.
