No, no truth, this is more sensitive and is better than many pinpointing type ferrite. A simple idea can give you the very small wire of strapler at inusual distance, try with your Chinese detector if can achieve this distance, for example, or if you can detect the very small silver nugget you can see in the pic with your Chinese detector... Also is very stable and the hand not produce alterations in detection.
