  • Fisher Gold Bug 2

Recently got Fisher Gold Bug 2, broken, without few components.
Need schematic for it. I do have Gold Bug schematic but not Gold Bug 2.
There is photo with part where components are missing.
Any hint about this will help.
    Regards!

Hi Ivconic. I have a working gold bug 2 MD.
I donĀ“t know how to open it. Can you tell me how to do that?
I will like to know if is posible to mod this detector, to allow full discrimination, instead of ferrous and all metal mode.
Of course i can take a look to your missing parts and then tell you what values are them. Also i can take pictures if you like. But remember to teel me how to open it.
    Regards
    Nelson

On small pcb Q1 and R1 are missing. What is R1, where to put it. I cant see any extra place for it. Only wire cuts remained from it.

On larger pcb those are missing parts:
        C44,R33,C27,C29,C26,C25,C28,C19,C36...

I got this detector as it is and already opened. How to open it?
I guess same way as 1265; unscrew coil connector and try to release front panel and pcb from enclosure. Try somehow....or in case you have fears to damage something, leave it, never mind.
If this can be done easy way ok, if not i will scrap it and use its enclosure for some of my handmades...
        Regards!

Ok Ivconic, donĀ“t worry i ll try to open it this afternoon after my office work. I think you are rigth about the way to open it. So when i get the job done i ll focus on components missing and cutting wires.
          Regards

It seems i will get those datas same way as i got schematic, Sean promissed me long time ago...Never!
                Ha,ha,ha...
Never mind. I will reassemble this and scrap it. It has very nice enclosure with front panel. Very suitable for my hand made TGSL.
I am not some "poor" guy with bairly one metal detector, hardly earned in life.
I had and saw more of those than you can see on Carl's photo of his collection. Also do have few right now. Also will have dozen more.
Also i do have right now over 400 schematics and projects. Quite database.
So...no problem. This story is finished, so far as i am concerned.
Best way is to ocassionaly visit these pages, download for free some schematics and upload/post nothing!
Those with that kind of "politics" turned to be much smarter than few of us, stupids, which wanted to share and exchange.
                Bye!

                  Hey Ivconic.
Please try to wait until this weekend, cause i hadnĀ“t the oportunity to open my machine. I think this weekend i ll have time to do the job.
I realy want to help you, but lots of thigs had happend in the last couple of weeks, so the only think i had time to do about metal detecting, is just writing on this post and saving datas.
                  Take care
                  Nelson

12 years later i started new topic with same name.
Because i completely forgot this one.
