    "OLD FORGOTTEN METAL DETECTOR'S"

Hello Patrick , Thank-You for sharing that schematic. There are 3 main reasons for this thread: 1 . To see the Schematic Design and if possible the PCB Circuit Board. 2. See if we have any potential for modifications, to make it much better. 3. To figure out Why was this Detector Discontinued ???...............So thanks again, Every post here is very Important !!!! ................Eugene

      "OLD FORGOTTEN METAL DETECTOR'S"

Here is the Correct Listing of Model's made by Gold Mountain Technologies:
      1.Gold Mountain "Boss"
      2.Gold Mountain Model #1849
3.Gold Mountain Cobra " the control knob tops were yellow"
4.GMT-1650 "the control knob tops were red"
5.GMT Gold-Scorpion "not a Garrett Scorpion" We Think
      6.Gold Mountain- Cobra II

The above are pretty accurate and might be in proper order?

        "OLD FORGOTTEN METAL DETECTOR'S"

Yesterday I did some research and I found a detector I am real impressed with . I never did use this one . But I was wondering how a detector that was designed for Gold nugget's can work so good on finding old coins "deep" ??? But I have to proceed with caution on this!!! After I post this I think I will get the answers to my question's. 1989 or so Tesoro came out with the "Tesoro Lobo" the original ,not the Lobo ST "Supertrack" of Today. Todays is 17.5 khz. Was the old lobo around 20 khz?? IS the AutoTrack for Auto-Ground Track ??? Here is a tiny photo of the detector and an old schematic. Also a Tech with a user-name of Foma ?? Made a Beautifull circuit board in .lay format , and also a new schematic. But I will post old stuff 1st till questions are answered because LOBO with "supertrack" is still in production , we still have to be carefull what we post. But if this LOBO is so awesome then after the "RELIC HAWK" is built , the Tesoro LOBO will be the next project. Lets start with what I have. So if anyone else has information on the Original Lobo , Let us know ,Thank-You..............Eugene

We must not forget these from Discovery Electronics. Most of the model's I have seen have "Micro-Processors" and were not cheap Detector's!! They also made a great 2-box. I wish I had better photo's . Anyone else ? Your welcome to post them......................Eugene

            "OLD FORGOTTEN METAL DETECTOR'S"

Here is one that is very, very rare !!!!!! From what i have read the detector was powered by 8 "C"cells and a 9 volt battery. And was called a Deep-Seeker !! Not too many were manufactured , I wish I had a schematic on this one , looks like a ribbon cable connects to the other housing . Are there one or two circuit board's , I am not sure? The frequency was 6.92 khz ? Any schematics or photo's of the circuit board , or circuit boards are very welcome on this model !!!! It was a Teknetics S/T. I found most of the photo's on a public photo image gallery. Also a little information was from a vintage detector site. I guess the detector was from the 1980s. I wish I had a lot more information on this one...............Eugene

              Hi Amtech2005
Thanks for a good quality lobo schematic.
I spended last night looking at the other lobo's schematic posted but it's difficult undestand all bucause low quality scansion.
The pcb and schematic redisegned, i dont remember now but i think by Foba, are, in may opinion, wrong.
Now i will compare this schematic with the others.

              Bye Max

              P. s. sorry for my poor english

                "Old Forgotten Metal Detector's"

Hello Maxbiri , the original Tesoro lobo schematic was hand drawn by W. Lahr. His schematics are very accurate, especially compared to others !!! If there are problems after you build your metal Detector Circuit board it's usually from your Home-Made search coil. But over the years there have been many Schematic's posted that are full of error's. Why? Is it deliberate ? Not all of them . I think tech's just make mistakes when they are writing down part numbers especially "Transistor Numbers" . Also circuit traces or the connection's between the part's is not right . Being in a hurry causes all the above. If every one of us had a perfect Factory search-coil for our project , we could tell right away if the metal detector circuit we just built was functioning perfect. But if you build a circuit that's not right and then build your own search-coil that's not right , you will a lot of wasted time and frustration and think the metal detector design is no good !!! Yes ,there have been some bad schematics floating around . Rememember the German "P.I. Detector DBP 2010" schematic that the author deliberately made error's so he can make "Big Money" on his book !! Eventually most good design's will be corrected and even in some cases improoved !! The "Relic Hawk" is a good example of this , but it will turn out to be a Great Project !!!! So will the Tesoro Lobo !!! When I get back home I will work with my new circuit simulation software. Circuit simulation's can help with correcting bad schematic's also !!!! ..Thank's................Eugene

                  "OLD FORGOTTEN METAL DETECTOR'S"

Here is one that is Gone and almost forgotten !! I think this detector has potential for improovement or Mod's , if you own one !!! But I would not build one from scratch as a Project !! It's the garrett xl500 "VLF" for land or Fresh Water and was manufactured around 1982. We never did find the schematic for this yet , and everyone was looking just a few month's ago. Here are a few images !!!!!......................... Next will be a brief history of Tesoro and some of the first Tesoro detector's ever made . And Tesoro detector's will start the "Circuit Analysis Thread" I promised !!!!!!...................Eugene

Thank-YOU KT-315 , Excellent Work !!!! Is the Fisher Pulse 8X Discontinued ??...Or are they still being manufactured ??? Anyway , I never heard anything bad about them . They are a little high-priced but work Great . Thank-You for posting and Please draw the Schematic Too !!!...................Eugene
