whites xlt metal detector

Hi everyone, I'm looking for a way of tracking black sand using my whites xlt metal detector.
Can this be done? if so can you tell how?

Hi man, What is your exact purpose of "Black Sand"? Would you please explain it at least for me as an unknowing? but about White's XLT I've used it thru one year, it's a real crap for serious THing. It looks much more like to a TV-game( with dozen of set-modes... and funny target IDs which you know better) that suits for a kid to search for some metal trashes in beachs and enjoy of bleeps. not for deep precise and accurate detection.
