BTW yes... maybe the banana-republic argumentation was a bit forced... you know I like the humor...

But I think is not USA made, nothing say that ...but the opposite, is sure made in another country and all labels are there just to mislead people...

It's always this way... when the manifacturer is from UK, Australia or US... not to tell about Swiss or Germany there's no dubt is good stuff: in many cases this is plain true... think at Minelab...or some White's etc but the proliferation of UK and US claimed made devices is a bit silly thing now... that about 90% of detectors on the market are assembled in China.

Sure not top of the range... but you know... chinese factories usually put a big CE on their products (another WTO violation cause it's reserved logo for european made products...) meaning "china export" or something! Fake!

In the same way I think who made MDL8500 put that intel inside there!

If is made of intel's ... is good... and if from USA even better! Calibrated also there! Probably just under the Liberty Bell! Sure!

Michael is making up this whole story just to attract attention, like always.
It was simillar in the past many times. Hung's student.
He actually posted some prepared photo here to attract attention and already told fairy tale about some ET detector. All of you are wasting time to disclose this non existing device, while at the same time Michael is laughing somewhere to death.
It is so obvious. We have here few people more of that kind: Hung,Esteban,Michael, Alex and Ikonos (what was his nick??).
Eversince all others completelly lost any interest in LRL things, those people came here to continue with same stories and spoil these threads also.
LRL was their gheto than. All things were almost fair here. Now it is not fair anymore. Beleivers started to polute other main forum threads, places where they are not welcome with their lies and lunatic fairy tales.
Administrator finally must do something!

Way you pronounced this "device" from a start gave me a lot of doubts in it's real existence.
Even now, looking this photo, i am not sure is it PI detector or something else - some scrap electronic.
You must do much better Michael. You must take more photos, zoom to top layer and components.
How come, that you are always very ready to argue and write novels but never really ready to give some more "material" material?
Why are you not giving here photo of upper side? What is so "secret" to hide?
Do i must to **** you up every time to provoke you to act convetnionally as any other member here?

what's the problem now ? I simply expressed my thoughts about device:

1. isn't military or aerospace stuff
2. isn't (much probably, I think so) made in the USA
3. isn't related to Nasa or M.D.L. like reported by Morgan... pure speculation
4. has wrong labels... misleading informations
5. the celeron sticker means nothing apart there's a sticker there
6. it's probably an handmade or customized kit
7. has no good soldering work at some part not compatible with Nasa
8. isn't related to Mars

etc...

So which is the problem ? I wrote that dvice will probably work as you explained... that all the above doesn't mean it doesn't work as described.

So, what's your problem Michael ?

I cannot find the manifacturer probably cause it's something handmade on small scale/numbers ...maybe this is the only one!

I don't understand... you didn't make a mistake introducing that device... but as you can see... many people think the same of me: not military grade stuff... and there are sure misleading informations on that labels.

Back to Michaels photos. Looking at upper side, yes it is PI detector. I see quite enough components to be sure it is PI detector. No doubts in that anymore.
Now, next thing is to proove it is working that good as Michael stated.

Small 8. pins IC is RX front end. See 2 reversed diodes at IC's input? Those are protective&limitting diodes to prevent huge saturation at IC inputs.
So, it is PI detector for sure. And IC looks like ordinary op-amp.
On right side of photo there are some large resistors. Most probably dampers.

Serbia is "bananize" now? Remember the time of Serbian partisans commanded by marshall Tito wich resist in high grade of heroicism the nazi invasion with many Offensives! This is not "characteristic" of banana republic! And the enemy also was ustachá and later chetniks! And at first moment British support the chetniks! Esteban , Hello Again. You are 100% correct on your latest observations !!!! And did you notice the missing components on the bottom left of the circuit board ???????? Like it was originally a "A.C." Line POWERED DEVICE !!!!110/220 VAC. I think this detector was originally an "INDOOR" Device !!!! Look at the power plug ????Also the language of device calibrated at USA "PAST TENSE" - Meaning assembly was finished NOT AT USA . I am not an english scholar but they speak and write worse english than me !!!!! Pretty Bad I searched again last night for hours and I am getting closer, much closer. We will Succeed with this "Metal Detector" mystery !!!!!...........Eugene

Amtech, i don´t follow you with the AC and the english problem...???

What is puzzling me is the scrapped ic reference.This means the device was to be showed to someone else and not copied.So not a prototype.

Michael, did you pass your fingernail or something all over the big white label to see if there is srews below it?
If it is repairable , there must be a way to open it!
