  • passband for gold nuggets

    Hi
just a question about the passband for gold nuggets ...
what would be the frequency passband for nuggets..
would like to implement a hp filter and lp filter in my PI hammerhead
cutting out the band of freqs that is not required ...
    any ideas

    Hi,
I think you misunderstud something about MDs... passband for nuggets ???

There isn't. You can discriminate stuff in e.g. VLF using phase informations but not a passband like you have with frequency stuff... isn't that way.

You could find notch filters that do similar way, "accepting" (or rejecting) just signal with a specified , restricted, phase interval... like a nugget could give... but not, never, 100% accurate on insulating just one kind of metal.

You know, a nugget could give similar phase shift like a small piece of e.g. aluminium so it's the tricky part of all the story... I mean digging in the dirt.

Anyway, a notch filter tuned to that phase range will save you from iron trash and most unwanted stuff... though not all.

    Kind regards,
    Max
