Thanks but still not help from this link!
Where is datasheet or simple explanation like "what the heck this IC is???"
That link leads to another and another and another....million opened pages without any usefull data! Internet could be very exhausting place from time to time.
      I am again at beginning...H E L P !!!

        ST HSC 002 !!!

Hello Ivconic , Is that a Thompson wth a "P" as in RCA , and not related to a Metal Detector ?? If it is Thompson it might be for a video processor , But I will be happy to search for a pdf datasheet for this number. I know I have seen this chip before !!!!!!..............Eugene

          ST HSC 002 !!!

ST Microelectronics is the manufacturer of that 20 pin dip. Not RCA / Thompson Like I first thought !!!! I am still searching and very close !!! I hope ..........Eugene

I try search with HSC002 even on ST database but found nothing! sorry.
May be a custom ic built on customer request, ST work in this way.

            Bye Max

              Hi,
I think is not a standard IC.

It's probably a microcontroller... ST6 family or similar.... that maybe equipped something very far from a metal detector.

Where did you find it ?

At first, when saw the ic number I was thinking at Honda HSC car... but maybe have nothing to do with it.

              Kind regards,
              Max

                  Hi,
ok... I'll try to find it, but see it hard ...cause if it's custom stuff will be truly difficault getting the informations.

                  Anyway, I will try.

                  Kind regards,
                  Max

                    No way...

I found that some dealers have it... but impossible to find datasheet.

Probably the ic is old stuff too... something maybe 1987, so obsolete.

                    Kind regards,
                    Max

I also searched a long time. But nothing.

Guys, LF357 is also stopped for production. Make a private stock for the future.

Guys thank you very much for efforts, i really apreciate this!
It is not obsolete ic, yet it seems to be discontinued in late '90.'s
I am also still searching...no results yet...
Sheesh i visited Thomson in Malta 2004. If i knew this before, i could ask there!
Now...their web page is much complicated, worse than ever. Man simply do not know who
to ask there!? PR's are usually "blah, blah" oriented but deep ignorants. I already have bad
                          experiences!
