Hi,
no... it's not a normal switch but somethign like in the picture... I said 3-ways... so it's made with 3-separate section that's why s1-a, s1-b, s1-c ... each letter is a section of it.
So, also if at s1-c is wired the same at different positions the difference there is at other sections , look at schematic carefully.

Trimpots are small variable resistors placed on pcb , used for tuning of MD.
disc stays for discrimination; matrix I mean composition of soil... with oxides and everything... can be e.g. clay matrix with oxides etc or e.g. sand-like-matrix like in deserts.

PS: in pdf you find a little tutorial that explains the use of these switches... if you never did before.

I have same this detector (VLF443),
but exist some problems in it and no do .
important this problems - disconnected in wiring between bc board and switch panel .
I connected all cables but not doing , I need your help if you have information about it
note - I draw (BC ) board in my self

Compress it to a zip file. Then you will be able to upload it.
Also, try to output the file from AutoCAD to a more general format, such as PDF or JPG. Then everyone can read it.

Hi Jamal,
the readings of ma meter about detection are not important... most important is sound in GSIV, you have to hear sound and any , even small, increase in pitch means you detected something...

Of course, the more the pitch increase (higher frequency) the more the target is either near or big ... so produce eddy current signal detected by device.

As said, the GSIV have problems with hot rocks and not perfect flat-soil-composition... so if there are e.g. fired ceramics is a big trouble.

The detection range vary depending of your setup... usually GSIV is better equipped with 8'' round coil... but several variations could be made e.g. for depth PI adaptation of it... that way is also invaluable tool too.

I don't understand your reference to VLF443 and schematic... where's the problem ?
