VLF METAL DETECTOR TESTS - WHAT IS THE BEST ?
METAL DETECTOR TESTS FOR DEPTH RESEARCH (second page)
By Alain Châtillon, Président Latincom-Mex SA & Deepers Detector Co Email : [email protected]
    IMPORTANT OBSERVATIONS :
Air testing test all metals normally gives much greater distances than those obtained in the ground test. Certain apparatus lose up to 13 cm between both, but when the detector gives a very good result in the air, it is generally - to a lesser extent - is powerful in the ground test, too.
The Ground Test for all metals is performed in a mixture of 50% bio-soil and 50% mineralized river sand, each moistened and measured before each test. Adjusted at maximum capacity many apparatus become unsteady (above all the ones with metal casings which tend to self-detect from a certain range on).
Excellent notation for the Garrett GTI 2000, easy usage, stable electronics, clear responses, good ergonomics, casing ABS, battery compartment as far from searchcoil as possible. Very good results with Fisher CZ20 (though a bit heavy). The Discovery Baron base module also gives reliable results. With its finest adjustment, the White’s 6000 Di Pro offers good detection depth but becomes rapidly unsteady. The Minelab Sovereign XS-2 works very correctly but uses up battery power in no time. Special mention for the Tesoro Lobo Super Traq, a very steady apparatus and which should give the best performances with a round searchcoil 10 1/2" (which we haven’t been able to test).
Thanks for your comments. Next test : Pulse Induction and 2 boxes

Good information , NELSON !!! It is always good to have field tests here on this forum . Especially soil , mud "DIRT" tests....Did you see the excellent report of the Garrett GTI-2000. No wonder Garrett discontinued and Pulled that Detector off the Market fast , It's cost was over $200.00 less than the GTI-2500 and worked just as Good !!!!....Garrett was going crazy when the GTI-2000 was selling faster than the GTI-2500. American business Practices and Philosophy. Oh by the way , how is the $$ U.S. dollar doing ????.............I try very hard to stick to the topics , have you noticed ????......................Eugene

I can't understand how they determine the max depth in the ground!!!!!
Does they put a coin in difference holes at 16... 17... 18...19 cm etc
      I need your opinion
It is not the same if you put soil between coil and object, and if you put the coin inside the soil...........

Hello everyone , Good point GEO. Then that is not the maximum depth !! What if you buried a Roll of coins at 20 centimeter's more depth , some machines will detect and some will not !!! So one coin buried does not tell us a Detectors MAXIMUM RANGE. Here is my favorite Depth Test Web-Site !!!...............Eugene.... http://wwwdark.w.interia.pl/testy.htm

Hi Eugene, yes this reports gave me an idea about CZ-20 performance, plus other reviews that i saw on the net.
About CZ-20 i m very satisfied with it. Excellent machine, good discriminston, good deep and good batterie drain.
Works very good on all soils.
About dollar, don´t understand what are you talking about.
            regards
            Nelson
