  • What about this MD ???

    Hi everyone,
please look at this metal detector:
    SSP-3000
    http://www.accuratelocators.com/ssp3000.html
Did this MD is worth to buy?
what about Garrett 2500 GTI OR Minelab GPX-4500 OR Minelab Explorer SE ???
    Thanks...Zenit52

    Hi,
I don't know about it... but the shape is similar to Michael's MDL...from what I see.

    It must be a PI: has 40'' x 40 '' coil (1mx1m).

    Kind regards,
    Max

Hi, I personally haven’t seen nor used it, only heard it's a so-so PI.
it depends on what you expect, for what purpose. What kind of search,…….
I've heard it’s an ordinary PI with jingle jangles, not a special thing, of course also have heard some success with it.
Although at first glance it appears little similar to MDL, but MDL has only 6 push-pad buttons whereas in SSP see more(10) of them with noticeable less capability.
If cost is not important for you pay for a Lorenz Deepmax-X3, so much better.
you see http://thunting.com/geotech/forums/s...t=14321&page=3 my post 467 and Morgan comments below is somehow near to my compatriot results about that.

          $3900 is not cheap!

But comparing to 6000e Sirius CRAP you may consider it cheap..

Considering performances of all "high league" PI detectors on market....still best compromise would be handmade Delta Pulse with 1x1m and 2x2m coils as well as 45cm coil.
Complete will cost you 300-400e to build it. And trust me you will be more satisfied with it, than with all that expensive crap.
Sirius (and all others from same manufacturer) is totall CRAP. PSII is half way CRAP. Lorenz is also CRAP. Minelab GP serie is very expensive CRAP. So....nothing really left for us - serious users.
PI detectors on todays market really could not justify hot prices, considering performances...
If we want to be real ,than top PI detector should not overcome $800-$1000 price ever...
Until performances rise and justify some more money.

It was ofered to me in Germany, this PI detector, second hand, for the price 600Euro,with all the acessories(coils). I try it but it as some problems with ground mineralization. It works betters if raise the search coil some cm above the ground.

                  600e is almost acceptable price.

To rise coil some cm above soil surface....ha,ha,ha! Same case with Lorenz!
But not "some cm" , some 30-40cm above!!! Only way to keep it calm...
