Hi folks,
Great forum you've got here. Browsed it in the past and have enjoyed the technically inclinded nature of it. Thanks to the owners and moderators for supplying this service...
Have a somewhat simple issue on a recent purchase of a used Fisher CZ-5 detector. It seems to have an issue with producing the "oversize target" belltone with coins that are within about .5" to 1" of the searchcoil. It's the newer version of the CZ-5, the one with the black shaft and plastic arm cuff. Already own the older version of this same detector for many years and absolutely love it - this new purchase is for the wife.
I'm thinking there is likely an internal adjustment to correct this issue I'm experiencing. Anybody have any insight on such an adjustment? Don't want to mess up it's operation by playing with adjustment I'm not familiar with, but sure would like to prevent sending it in to Fisher and getting billed for an alignment if possible.
Been an electronic tech for many, many years and have all the gear, so this certainly is not beyond my capabilities, yet sure would like to hear from those who may have experience in these areas...
Thanks a lot for any insight!
