  • Fisher TH-PRO (rio red) question

Trying to fix Dad's old Fisher TH-PRO. A "friend" removed the connections to the battteries. It looks like it had used two c size batteries. UK Brian from a metal detector forum told me that Steve and (tex) had mentioned owning this oldie and adapting it to a new power supply a couple of years ago. Can anyone help me or point me to these old posts. I can't find them.
    Thanks

Thanks for trying to help me...

Regretfully, I'm not an electronics buff. The schematic appears to show a 3 volt power supply that gets stepped up to an 8.8 volt supply. My friend was very electronics savvy and he had planned to replace the two C with two 9 volts. Would that work? I see two red wires going to the board and one black one going to the power knob. Can anyone tell me if his idea was valid and which wires to connect to the two 9 volt connectors?
