  • SD2100 Power Supply

    Hi,
Can anyone tell me what is the maxium voltage that you can be run on the SD2100? I have read you can push it to 8.3 volts to increase depth efficiency without frying the circuit board although I have not seen any mods for doing this.
At present I'm running a SD2100 with the CoilTech 12v-7.3v regulator & looking at seeing if it is cost effective to mod the machine to improve the depth efficiency rather then upgrading to a later model. Any advice would be appreciated.

    Cheers

You can run plenty of volts on the Minelab but you must beef up the small fets in the voltage inverters and use a series dropping resistor with a zener to limit the votage to the IC's. Then you separate the voltage rail to the transmit section and hit it with 12 volts or more, you will need up upgrade the breakdown voltages of the series Ultrafast diodes and the output fets.
