  • USB oscilloscope good for detector dev ?

I need to get myself a cro and I have seen the USB type on eBay for about $100 AUD. Item 350140813427 is an example. Anyone used these cro's ? They only do upto 50kHz but that would be fine for detecor work right ? I would imaging the digital storage ability would be invaluable.

Anyone else been using one of these ?

50kHz sounds a little bit of limited for 50 Euros, perhaps you could use your sound card with some of the many free o-scope software available from the Internet.

I have been looking down the sound card path and I have learnt some interesting information. If you have a sound card with 44kHz sample rate it will only be good for 1/10th the frequency to get a decent sample of the wave. So only good for 4kHz. Some 24bit sound cards will do 192kHz so good for 19kHz waves. I will build up the basic circuit needed to make it all work on my sound card and see how it goes. It might be all that is needed for some basic detector tuning and development.

        Delphi programm simmulate pi detector

        You are right.
I have created the program which displays an entrance signal from a sound card. The unfinished version is placed in the bottom of my message. I used the sound card Realtek AC97 Audio integrated in motherboard. It has poor qualities therefore displayed signal in the program of distortion. But with the help of this program it is possible to simulate work of the detector. While the not complete version is placed.
If to use a sound card of higher quality that of distortion should decrease. sample rate must be > 96000 (96Khz or more).etc 192 Khz.

At connection of a signal it is necessary to reduce by an input(entrance) sound картв a signal up to 0,5 volts with the help of a divider. Differently sound card can burn (crashed) .
